Chris is the Chris Architect for Cloud Native Runtimes at IBM, leading teams that contributing to open source communities for the Node.js, Java and Swift runtimes. Chris has worked on runtimes, programming languages, and application frameworks for almost 20 years, and has most recently been focussed on enhancing frameworks and providing modules to make it easier to build best-practice cloud native applications.
Miroslav is a Senior Node.js Engineer at IBM, currently leading development of LoopBack.io, a popular open source API framework for Node.js he co-authored at StrongLoop. Miroslav has also made several improvements to Node.js debugging and maintained Node Inspector through Node.js v0.10 era. As a citizen of two worlds - the low-level Node.js core and a high-level API framework, he has a lot to say about practical implications of the new async/await feature.
Adam Baldwin is the Head of security at npm inc. He is the founder of the Node Security Project & talks about javascript security non-stop. In his free time Adam enjoys doing basically the exact same stuff he does for work, also raising chickens, and spending as much time as possible with his wife and 2 children.
Diego (@DiegoRBaquero) is a Senior Full Stack Developer building new products with Node.js in the innovation group of Inalambria, a Colombian messaging platform. He just finished an undergrad in Systems and Computing Engineering and is starting a Masters of Software Engineering in August, 2018. He's passionate about technology and research. Joel Chen is Principal Architect of Customer Engineering leading the Web Application Platform at WalmartLabs. He’s been developing software for 20 years with experience in low level embedded systems to large scale Enterprise systems. He has been focusing primarily on NodeJS since 2013. After successfully lead the migration of PayPal checkout to NodeJS and AngularJS, he joined WalmartLabs and lead the migration of the Web platform to NodeJS and ReactJS.

Matteo is a Principal Architect at nearForm and a member of the Node.js Technical Steering Committee. Matteo authored the Mosca MQTT broker, the fast logger Pino and of the Fastify web framework. In 2014, he defended his Ph.D. thesis titled "Application Platforms for the Internet of Things". Matteo spoke at several international conferences: Node.js Interactive, NodeConf.eu, NodeSummit, JSConf.Asia and WebRebels to name a few. He is also co-author of the book "Node.js Cookbook, Third Edition".
Tierney is Chairperson of the Node.js Community Committee and a member of multiple Node.js working groups and initiatives. He worked on contributing to Node.js at college in his spare time, and now writes tutorials and articles for the Community, with the goal of always enabling and empowering those who want to learn about Node.js and its vibrant ecosystem.
Michael Dawson is an active contributor to the Node.js project and chair of the Node.js Technical Steering Committee(TSC). He contributes to a broad range of community efforts including platform support, build infrastructure, N-API, Release, as well as tools to help the community achieve quality with speed. As IBM Node.js community lead, he works with IBM's internal teams to plan and facilitate their contributions to Node.js and v8 within the Node and Google communities.
Chris Dias is a Principal Program Manager at Microsoft working on Visual Studio Code, TypeScript, and Azure. VS Code and TypeScript are two of Microsoft’s flagship open source projects, enabling developers on Mac, Linux, and Windows to easily build and deploy modern Node applications. Chris works with many teams across Microsoft to ensure that Azure is a great platform to run modern, enterprise ready, global scale Node based applications in the public and private clouds.

Robert Dickert has been building apps with GraphQL and Node.js for the past two years. Before that he worked at the Meteor Development Group, the creators of Apollo. He has taught both introductory and advanced GraphQL classes at the GraphQL Summit as well as clients like Ticketmaster and Priceline.
Chase Douglas is the co-founder and CTO of Stackery.io, which provides DevOps tools for serverless velocity. His experience spans the gamut of technical and managerial, specifically focused on how teams of developers build products collaboratively. In prior roles he has been a VP of engineering at a web application security company, technical architect of the New Relic Browser product, and an architect of the multitouch implementation for the Linux desktop.
Finn is an Automation Engineer at Slack, where they teach robots to operate the desktop client so that humans have more time to do harder things. In their spare time, they write video games for obscure virtual consoles.
Monica is a software engineering director in the Intel Open Source Technology Center, passionate about managing complex RnD projects and distributed software engineering teams. Her organization focuses on optimizing most popular software stacks and runtime languages used in the cloud today, leading the open source efforts with the Node.js, PHP and HHVM communities. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, as well as several US patents related to security technologies.

I am Support Engineer at NodeSource. At NodeSource I spend time coding on products, giving talks and fixing other companies issues related to Node.js. I created my own lisp based language, a CSS framework and a ton of C libs, all of this because I enjoy experiment and learn. Previously worked at Mozilla porting Firefox OS to ARM devices, building IoT tools for web developers and speaking about Rust, Node.js and embedded OS development.
Beth Griggs is a Software Engineer working in IBM Runtimes, working on a variety of projects all with a focus on the Node.js runtime. Her work spans from building, testing, and contributing to the Open Source Node.js runtime, to creating a Yeoman.io based generator that scaffolds Cloud Native Node.js applications with integrable services.
Alex is the head of engineering for the Online Grocery business and the Application platform team at WalmartLabs. Online Grocery is currently the fastest growing business within Walmart and Application platform is responsible for the development of Electrode, an open source project that made it possible for Walmart.com to transition from Backbone/Java to React/Node. Last year, Alex’s team successfully launched Electrode Native, the framework that is powering mobile react native applications in native apps. Alex has over 15 years of experience working in software engineering with companies of various domains. Prior to Walmart Labs, Alex was leading the team in charge of building the checkout experience at PayPal.

Eran Hammer is an avid open source developer. He is the creator and lead maintainer of hapi.js, a leading node ecosystem that powers some of the world largest web applications. In his work at Walmart, Yahoo, and Citi, Eran lead engineering teams building large scale distributed systems. With Sideway, Eran's career of empowering developers to be more productive and happier is turning into new tools with a focus on holistic performance.
Orandi Harris is a QA Consultant at QualityWorks Consulting Group Jamaica. For the past two years, he has utilized Node.js to create automated test suites for various web and mobile applications. He's committed to the enhancement of Jamaica through the advancement of technology. He is a graduate of the University of Technology, Jamaica, a chief ambassador for the organisation Youth Can Do IT as well as a member of the Jamaica Computer Society.
Christopher Holmok started writing code on TRS-80s in the library of his elementary school. This led to working at companies like Microsoft, Myspace, RetailMeNot and currently HomeAway. He has enjoyed working with JavaScript for over 15 years and has been focusing on Node.js for the past 7 years building everything from data pipelines to large scale web applications. He is part of the team helping HomeAway to re-platform web applications to Node.js.

Bryan Hughes is a technical evangelist at Microsoft and long-time member of the Node.js and NodeBots communities. Bryan is the creator of Raspi IO which provides Raspberry Pi support for the Johnny-Five JavaScript robotics library. Bryan also created Raver Lights, a distributed wireless lighting system designed for festivals, and Request Inspector, a Node.js performance diagnostics tool. Thorsten is a Jazz musician turned developer and is excited about Node.js and its community. Gireesh Punathil is an Architect and Software developer with IBM India Software Labs, predominantly working in Java and Node.js. In 15 years of his career, he has been porting, developing and debugging web servers, virtual machines and compilers. Felix is a Staff Engineer and Windows Lead at Slack, a member of the Electron maintainers group, and author of O'Reilly's guide "Introducing Electron". He's been educating people about JavaScript, Node.js, and web technologies for more than a decade and is passionate about enabling web developers to take their skills to new places.
Nitish is an engineer working on the Desktop Team at Slack in San Francisco. Mike Samuel works on Google's technical infrastructure team improving libraries and programming languages to make it easier to produce secure & robust software. Mike has worked on JavaScript sandboxing, Secure EcmaScript and other language committee proposals, making template languages XSS-free, tweaking linkers to check system security properties, and providing end-to-end security via safe contract types. He is currently investigating full-stack security.

Ryan Schneider has worked as a backend and distributed engineer since 2004. Ryan has a BS in CS and MS in Software Development and Management. After years of software development and architecture he decided to blend his love for teaching and open source as an Education engineer at Elastic. Ryan currently works for Heptio as a Lead Education Engineer after being excited about the cloud native movement that the Kubernetes community is driving.
I have worked on both the front end and back end of the Web since 2012, first as a contributor to the jQuery projects jQuery Mobile, jQuery UI, and the core jQuery library. I have since switched to the back end, working on delivering the new, ABI-stable Node.js API (N-API). I am a passionate supporter of Open Source, Open Governance, and Open Collaboration.
Alolita Sharma is a Principal Technologist at AWS. She's an expert in internationalization and applying deep learning for natural language processing. She has led several engineering projects and teams at PayPal, Twitter, Wikipedia and IBM. She serves on the board of Unicode Consortium, is an invited expert on W3C and ECMA workgroups. She speaks internationally on open source technologies for cloud, web, language technologies, deep learning and open standards such as Unicode.
Dan Shaw, aka “dshaw”, is dedicated to expanding Node.js and the Web Platform. He is known as "The Godfather of Node.js” for building community and aligning the needs of developers and business. Dan created the first consulting company focused Node.js, The Node Firm, and the first company to productize Node.js, NodeSource. He was instrumental in the formation of the Node.js Foundation. Today, Dan Shaw works across the industry helping companies leverage Node.js for strategic advantage.
James is an open source architect for nearForm and a core contributor to Node.js. He has worked on many of the newest Node.js features including HTTP/2, WHATWG URL, tracing, promises support, and more. His passion is empowering and supporting open source contribution in any form.
Deian is an Assistant Professor in the UCSD CSE Department and Chief Scientist at Intrinsic, a web security start-up he co-founded. Deian’s research interests span security, programming languages, and systems. He is particularly interested in building secure systems, such as browsers and language runtime systems, by applying programming language techniques and analysis. Deian is also a member of the W3C WebAppSec and the Node.js Security working groups.
Vikram works at Google and a member of the Angular team. He works on Angular Universal which enables running Angular applications on Node.js for server side rendering. Recently he has been working on integrating Node.js into build and production environments at Google.
From the olden days of DOS, Gil was, is, and always will be a software developer. He has co-founded WebCollage, survived the bubble collapses, and designed cloudy projects at Wix. His current passion is figuring out how to test software, a passion which he has turned into his main job as Senior Architect at Applitool, where he develops tests for software that tests software, which is almost one meta layer too many for him.
I have been a Developer Advocate at IBM since 2017, focusing on container technologies. Before that, I did devops-y stuff for various OpenStack cloud projects. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar and traveling.
Rachel is the CEO of SocialProof Security where she helps people and companies keep their data safe by training them on social engineering risks. Rachel placed second two years in a row in the DEF CON hacking conference's Social Engineering Capture the Flag contest. In her remaining spare time, Rachel works as the Chair of the Board for the nonprofit Women in Security and Privacy (WISP) where she empowers women to lead the converging fields.

Rich is a member of the Node.js Technical Steering Committee. He is a prolific contributor to Node.js focusing particularly on tests. Rich also runs NodeTodo (http://nodetodo.org/) to assist others who wish to get started contributing to Node.js. Rich works in the UCSF Library as the Director of the Center for Knowledge Management.
Vladimir is an active contributor of the Node.js project especially in the Security Working Group. He has been leading the ecosystem security initiative in the WG. He has been publishing multiple articles regarding Node.js security and performance.
Taranveer is a developer of LoopBack, the popular open source Node.js API creation framework. He joined the LoopBack team at IBM in June 2017, focusing on helping the rewrite that had been kicked off earlier in the year. He created the new boot module for LoopBack 4, validated extensibility of framework by creating extensions and has helped shape the developer experience for both consuming and developing the framework.
Brad is co-founder and CTO of Mixmax, a startup focused on bringing email into the 21st century. Prior, Brad began his career as an engineer on the Apple OS X team, worked as an engineer on Palm WebOS, and led an engineering team at Inkling. He has a BS in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
Shelley is a software engineer on the Electron team at GitHub who loves figuring out how to make things work. She's passionate about clean code & diving deep into tricky problems with Javascript, Ruby, and C++. Prior to GitHub, she worked at IFTTT, Transloc, and Embedly (now part of Medium). She's also a runner, explorer, and crossword puzzle fan powered by more coffee than a human should probably drink.

Trent Willis is a Senior UI Engineer at Netflix, where he builds tools and applications to give other engineers insight into their products. He previously worked at LinkedIn and Grooveshark where he helped build products that reached millions of daily users. Yunong is a principal software engineer at Netflix, where he is the tech lead of the API platform. He spent stints of his career at AWS and Joyent, where he worked on distributed systems and helped to shape and build several cloud computing products such as AWS IAM and Manta. He also maintains the open source Node.js framework restify. Yunong received a BaSc with honours in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
