Update: Free Shuttle Service to Node Summit
In an effort to make it easier to get from downtown San Francisco to the Mission Bay Conference Center (and back), we set up a free shuttle bus service for Node Summit Attendees. The buses each seat 30 people and will be working on (roughly) the schedule below. Please review the Public Transit information below as there are plenty of ways to get to the event already, we just figured it would help if we added one more. It may be overkill, and there may be tons of seats available. If so, feel free to just ride the shuttle around the loop again and again if you like doing that sort of thing.
Shuttles will depart from 125 3rd Street (Third and Mission) just outside the St. Regis Hotel, and will then make a stop at the CalTrain Station (Fourth and Townsend) before continuing on to the Mission Bay Conference Center. The shuttles will be making a loop, so the return trip will be from Mission Bay to Third and Mission. Note: The stop at Caltrain will be short so be ready to jump on when you see the shuttle pull up.
Shuttles start at 7:30am on Tuesday (first departure from 3rd and Mission is at 7:30am). On Tuesday, the shuttles will run every 15 minutes from 7:30am until 10:30am, and every thirty minutes from 3:30pm until 6:30pm. On Wednesday, shuttles will run every thirty minutes from 7:30am until 10:30am and again from 3:30pm until 6:30pm.
To the best of our knowledge, no conference at Mission Bay has ever tried to provide a private shuttle service before, so please anticipate a few glitches, but it seems to be well planned out at this point.
Again, there are several public transit options (including UCSF Shuttles) so if you miss the Node Shuttle (sorry, no time to come up with clever names), or if the one you want to get on is full, don’t lose heart, just scroll down and check out the options.
Also – Catching cabs from the MissionBay Conference Center can be tough. We recommend you download the Cabulous app on iPhone – it makes ordering a cab in San Francisco easier – there are probably others that do the same, this is the one we know about.
